Fluellen Theatre Company`s main body of work comprises the four major productions staged at the Grand Theatre Swansea, its home venue. All productions premiere at its studio theatre, The Arts Wing or, on occasions, the Main House. All major productions tour venues in Wales and beyond.
Although very much based in Classical Theatre, Fluellen has widened its scope considerably with major productions of new plays such as the two Swansea City-inspired plays, Toshack Or Me! and To Hull And Back; Geoff Saunders` comedy Hanging In There; and a specially commissioned stage adaptation by Francis Hardy of the Dylan Thomas screenplay The Doctor And The Devils. 2011 will see the completion of the Swansea City trilogy with the premiere of Peter Read`s Wemberlee! Wemberlee!
Fluellen also produces Lunchtime Theatre, in association with the Grand Theatre, which features new short drama that has featured the work of, amongst others, Kate Bowman, Sarah Elliott, Alun Howell, Glynis Judge, Daniel MacGowan, Louise McLeod, Matthew Nicholls,Gary Owen, George Rathbone, Peter Read, Geoff Saunders, Derek Webb and Ray Williams.
Fluellen produces Theatre-In-Focus at the Dylan Thomas Centre Swansea that, every month features the life and work of a major playwright.
Fluellen has produced two summer seasons at De Valance, Tenby and Grand Pavilion Porthcawl featuring the work of South Wales playwright Ray Williams, You`re Having A Laugh and Funny Business.
Fluellen has devised many original presentations on the life and works of Dylan Thomas - The Beast The Angel and The Madman, One State of Happiness and A Child`s Christmas In Wales that have been regularly performed at the Dylan Thomas Centre Swansea, The Boathouse Laugharne and Clyne Theatre Swansea.
In addition to its theatre work, Fluellen works closely with schools and colleges in presenting workshops based on its productions. It has also hosted Acting Tutorials The Craft Of Acting,and day long Shakespeare workshops for adults that has featured Macbeth, Twelfth Night and Henry V.
